ValueAct increases stake in Sealy to 5.5%

Des Moines, Jan. 18 - Affiliates of ValueAct Capital reported ownership of about 5.5% of the outstanding stock of Sealy Corp. in an SC 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In total, the investors own 4,957,182 shares of the company.

Between Jan. 4 and Jan. 16, ValueAct Master Fund II bought a total of 1.06 million Sealy shares at prices ranging from $9.27 to $10.25.

Sealy is a bedding manufacturer based in Trinity, N.C.
