S&P: Saskatchewan view to negative
Standard & Poor’s said it revised the outlook on the Province of Saskatchewan to negative from stable.
The agency also said it affirmed the province’s AAA long-term issuer credit rating.
The negative outlook reflects a belief that the recent decline in oil prices may erode Saskatchewan’s budgetary performance, which is one of four key strengths that has supported the province’s AAA rating, S&P said.
The ratings also consider its strong financial management, strong budgetary flexibility and low contingent liabilities, the agency said.
