Fitch upgrades Santander UK to A+

Fitch Ratings said it upgraded Santander UK plc's long-term issuer default rating, derivative counterparty rating and long-term senior debt ratings to A+ from A.

The agency also said it removed the ratings from Rating Watch positive.

The outlook is stable.

The upgrades follow an increase in the company's subordinated debt buffer, Fitch said.

The A viability rating of Santander UK and the ratings on Santander UK Group Holdings plc are unaffected by the upgrades, the agency said.
