Moody's boosts Atmos

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded Atmos Energy Corp.'s long-term ratings (senior unsecured rating to Baa2 from Baa3) and its commercial paper rating to Prime-2 from Prime-3.

The outlook is stable.

These rating actions conclude the review for possible upgrade that began on March 23, the agency noted.

"Atmos has completed a major debt refinancing that was a key hurdle to an upgrade," said Moody's vice president Mihoko Manabe.

"The company has improved its alternate liquidity resources while maintaining solid financial performance."
