Moody's turns Sabine Pass, Cheniere Energy Partners view to positive

Moody's Investors Service said it revised the outlooks for Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC (SPL) and Cheniere Energy Partners, LP (CQP) to positive from stable.

The positive outlook considers the strong worldwide pricing environment for liquefied natural gas that should enable SPL to generate cash flow at levels more than prior expectation and provide an opportunity to reduce leverage, the agency said. The issuer cut its debt by $500 million in 2021. SPL's year-end debt balance stood at about $13.1 billion.

CQP's positive outlook reflects the heavy reliance on distributions from its wholly owned operating units and SPL and mirrors SPL's positive outlook, Moody’s said.

The agency also affirmed both issuers ratings.
