Astoria Financial series C preferreds admitted to trading on NYSE

Minneapolis, March 25 - The depositary shares of Astoria Financial Corp.'s 6.5% series C noncumulative perpetual preferred stock have been admitted to trading on the New York Stock Exchange, according to a notice.

The shares trade under the symbol "AF PR C."

Each preferred will be issued as a depositary share representing a 1/40th interest.

The company priced $135 million of the preferreds on March 12.

As previously reported, Barclays, Raymond James & Associates, Inc. and RBC Capital Markets, LLC are the joint bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include redemption of its 9.75% junior subordinated debentures due Nov. 1, 2029, as well as investments in Astoria Federal as regulatory capital and investments at the holding company level.

Astoria Financial is a Lake Success, N.Y.-based banking institution.
