Qwest to redeem $125 million of 7.5% notes due 2051 on May 9

New York, April 25 – Qwest Corp. will redeem $125 million principal amount of its 7.5% notes due 2051 on May 9, according to a notice from the issuer.

The redemption will cover 5 million units of the $25-par securities.

Holders will receive par plus accrued interest.

Qwest announced the planned redemption on April 18 when it said it would repay its $500 million of 6.5% notes due June 1, 2017, with the call date subsequently set for May 4, and its $288.5 million principal amount of the 2051 notes.

To fund the redemptions, Qwest announced and priced an upsized $575 million offering of 6.75% $25-par notes due 2057.

Qwest is a Denver-based telecommunications carrier and unit of CenturyLink Inc.
