Qwest plans to redeem 7.375% notes due 2051 via new notes offering

Norfolk, Va., Aug. 11 – Qwest Corp. plans to redeem all or a portion of the $661.25 million aggregate principal amount of its 7.375% notes due 2051 with the proceeds from a new offering of senior notes due 2056, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Proceeds will also be used to pay accrued interest on the notes. Any remaining proceeds will be used for additional debt repayments or other general corporate purposes.

Qwest is a Monroe, La.-based subsidiary of telecommunications company CenturyLink, Inc.
