Financial Security Assurance renamed Assured Guaranty Municipal

Milwaukee, Nov. 2 - Assured Guaranty Ltd. announced it will change the name of its subsidiary Financial Security Assurance Inc. to Assured Guaranty Municipal Corp., which now serves the municipal market exclusively.

The name change follows Assured Guaranty's acquisition of Financial Security Assurance in July.

The parent company also plans to change the names of the Financial Security Assurance companies worldwide, according to a press release.

Assured Guaranty Ltd. is a Bermuda-based holding company. Its operating subsidiaries provide credit enhancement products to the U.S. and international public finance and structured finance markets.
