Quigley asks district court to affirm plan order, validate injunctions

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 11 - Quigley Co., Inc. asked the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to affirm a bankruptcy court order confirming its Chapter 11 reorganization plan, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The plan was confirmed by the bankruptcy court on July 2.

District court affirmation is required before asbestos personal injury and settling asbestos insurance entity permanent channeling injunctions included in the plan can become valid and enforceable, the motion said.

Quigley, a unit of New York-based Pfizer Inc., filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 3, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-15739.
