Fitch affirms Qtel

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Qatar Telecom QSC's long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at A+ with stable outlook.

Qtel International Finance Ltd.'s global medium-term note program, guaranteed by Qtel, also was affirmed at A+.

The affirmation reflects the assessment of the sovereign's creditworthiness due to Qtel's strong operational and strategic ties with the State of Qatar, according to the agency.

Qatar Telecom's leverage, of net debt to EBITDA, is expected to edge up to 1.8x at the end of 2011, compared with 1.7x at the end of 2010, the agency said.
