Qtel delays interest payment on 6½%, 7 7/8% notes by one business day

Chicago, Dec. 1 - Qatar Telecom Q.S.C. said its wholly owned subsidiary Qtel International Finance Ltd. will delay paying interest due on two series of notes until Dec. 12. The interest was due Dec. 9.

The issuer will pay noteholders $29.25 million in interest on its $900 million of 6½% guaranteed notes due 2014 and $23,625,000 in interest on $600 million of 7 7/8% guaranteed notes due 2019.

Qatar Telecom is a Doha, Qatar-based telecommunications firm.
