Moody's rates Qatar International Islamic Bank A3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned local- and foreign-currency long-term and short-term issuer ratings of A3/Prime-2 to Qatar International Islamic Bank and a standalone bank financial strength rating of D+, which maps to Ba1 on the long-term rating scale.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings consider the bank's solid financial fundamentals, especially the very high capitalization levels and good core earnings-generating capability and satisfactory asset-quality levels, the agency said.

The ratings also consider the favorable operating conditions in the Qatari banking system, as well as the history of proactive and ongoing support by the Qatari authorities to local banks, the agency added.
