Fitch affirms Poland

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed the Republic of Poland's long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at A- and affirmed Poland's long-term local-currency issuer default rating at A and short-term issuer default rating at F2. Poland's country ceiling is AA-.

The outlook is stable.

"Poland's creditworthiness is supported by the country's strong underlying institutional and democratic framework, diverse and strongly performing economy, and improved budget performance," David Heslam, a Fitch director, said in a written statement.

The upgrade also reflects the upturn in economic growth and improved fiscal outcomes, Heslam said.
