Parmalat protection from creditors extended to Feb. 8

Pittsburgh, Dec. 9 - Parmalat SpA's protection from U.S. creditors under its Section 304 bankruptcy case has been extended to Feb. 8 from Dec. 9, according to a company news release.

A hearing to consider a further extension will be held Feb. 7.

The Italian dairy products company filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 24, 2003 in the Court of Parma.
