Parmalat committee gets consent to continue investigating Citibank

Washington, Sept. 3 - Parmalat USA Corp.'s official committee of unsecured creditors got another extension on its ability to investigate Citibank NA London branch and Citibank NA.

The paperwork was filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York Friday.

The committee is empowered to investigate any claims, rights or causes of action against the two Citigroup units, which were pre-petition lenders to Parmalat USA.

The Citibank London period to investigate is extended to Sept. 9 and the period to investigate is extended to Oct. 15.

Parmalat USA filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 23. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-11139.
