S&P lowers Oshkosh view to negative

Standard & Poor's said it revised its outlook on Oshkosh Corp. (formerly Oshkosh Truck Corp.) to negative from stable and affirmed the company's ratings, including the BB corporate credit rating.

The outlook revision follows Oshkosh's announcement that earnings will be lower than previously forecast for the second half of its fiscal year. The agency said the company's access equipment segment has experienced some recent volume weakness as end-market demand has softened and that continued weakness could result in deterioration of credit measures that are currently somewhat below S&P's expectations.

Meanwhile, S&P said the ratings for Oshkosh reflect its aggressive financial profile, which more than offsets its leading business positions in key segments of the specialty vehicle market and satisfactory product and end market diversity.
