Orchid facilities OK'd by U.K. regulators

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 21 - Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.'s sterile cephalosporin finished dosage form and active pharmaceutical ingredients facilities in India have been approved by the U.K. Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

The agency validated the quality, regulatory and compliance standards of the facilities, according to the Tamil Nadu, India, pharmaceutical company.

With the approvals, Orchid can move ahead with its plans to launch cephalosporin products in the European market.
