Moody’s views Ontario Teachers positively

Moody’s Investors Service said it changed its outlook for Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board and its subsidiary Ontario Teachers' Finance Trust to positive from stable and affirmed their Aa1 ratings.

“The outlook on OTPP and OTFT has been changed to positive from stable following the change in outlook of OTPP's sponsor and support provider, the province of Ontario (Ontario, Aa3 positive) as well as further strengthening of OTPP's funding profile. OTPP and OTFT's ratings reflect a high assumption of extraordinary support from Ontario and an upgrade of Ontario would put upward rating pressure on OTPP and OTFT's ratings,” Moody’s said in a press release.
