Discovery Partners to help Ono find new drugs

New York, Oct. 24 - Discovery Partners International, Inc. said it has agreed to collaborate with Ono Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. on multiple "hit-to-lead" and lead optimization projects.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased that Ono has chosen to collaborate with Discovery Partners to find new leads for their drug discovery programs," said Riccardo Pigliucci, chairman and chief executive officer of Discovery Partners, in a news release.

"This collaboration with Ono is a strong endorsement of our drug discovery capabilities and our collaborative approach, and will especially leverage our expertise in medicinal chemistry."

Discovery Partners is a San Diego-based drug discovery company.
