O'Melveny & Myers adds Rapisarsdi, Davis, Friedman to restructuring

Madison, Wis., May 7 - O'Melveny & Myers LLP announced that John J. Rapisarsdi, George A. Davis and Peter M. Friedman will be joining the firm as partners in its restructuring practice.
Rapisarsdi and Davis are former co-chairs of Cadwalader's global financial restructuring department, and Friedman is a former Cadwalader partner.
Based in New York, Rapisarsdi and Davis will be global co-practice group leaders of O'Melveny's restructuring group, while Friedman will be in the firm's Washington, D.C., office.
San Francisco-based O'Melveny partner Suzzanne Uhland is U.S. practice group leader of the restructuring group.
Rapisarsdi, Davis and Friedman have represented debtors and creditors from a number of industries including energy, sports, manufacturing, transportation and health care. Their clients have included financial institutions, private equity funds, hedge funds, troubled companies and the U.S. government.
Rapisarsdi has restructuring experience across a variety of industries, notably in the automotive sector advising the government in the restructuring of General Motors and Chrysler. He worked on the Chapter 11 proceedings of LyondellBasell.
Davis has been involved most recently in the energy sector with restructurings that include Dynegy, Edison Mission Energy and AES Eastern Energy. Davis had a significant role in the Lyondell transaction, according to the firm.
Friedman represents major parties in financial restructurings. He also was a member of the U.S. Treasury and Presidential Auto Task Force and Lyondell teams, handling the litigation-related proceedings.
