Oi creditors meetings set by Brazilian court for Oct. 9, Oct. 23

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 28 – Meetings of Oi SA’s creditors have been scheduled for Oct. 9 and Oct. 23 by the 7th Business Court of Rio de Janeiro, according to an order attached to a 6-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Oct. 9 meeting will be the “first-call” meeting for creditors, and the Oct. 23 meeting will be the “second call.”

Chief judge Fernando Cesar Ferreira Viana also recommended that creditors interested in participating in the meetings make those intentions known as suggested by Oi’s judicial administrator.

Oi is a Rio de Janeiro-based telecommunications service provider. It filed for Chapter 15 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on June 21, 2016 under case number 16-11791.
