Acacia Research files $75 million stock shelf

New York, April 25 - Acacia Research Corp. registered to sell up to $75 million of stock in an S-3 shelf filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday.

The stock can be issued by either Acacia Research's Combimatrix group or its Acacia Technologies group.

Also covered by the shelf are warrants for either group's stock.

Proceeds will be used for working capital.

Acacia Research is based in Newport Beach, Calif. Combimatrix includes Acacia Research's life sciences business and works on drug development, genetic analysis, molecular diagnostics, nanotechnology research, defense and homeland security. Acacia Technologies develops, acquires and licenses patented technologies.
