Nortel reports $868.5 million in cash and equivalents as of Sept. 30

Pittsburgh, Feb. 28 - Nortel Networks Inc. reported $868.5 million in cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash as of Sept. 30, according to its monthly operating report filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In comparison, the company had $879.7 million in cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash as of Sept. 1.

Nortel had $1,120,500,000 in assets and $5,375,800,000 in debt at Sept. 30.

Nortel, a Brampton, Ont.-based manufacturer and supplier of telecommunications networking equipment, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 14, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10138.
