Nomura hires Carpenter, Park as acquisition leveraged finance directors

By Tali Rackner

Norfolk, Va., Nov. 17 – Nomura said it appointed Garrett Carpenter and Christina Park as managing directors in its acquisition leveraged finance group, according to a press release.

Carpenter was most recently at BofA Merrill Lynch, where he spent nearly 13 years in the leveraged finance group, most notably as a managing director in leveraged finance capital markets working on institutional first- and second-lien term loans across the consumer and retail, financial institutions, industrials and technology verticals.

Park has more than 13 years of experience across the leveraged finance space in various industry sectors working at Barclays and its predecessor, Lehman Brothers, and at Citi. Most recently, she was as a managing director in global leveraged finance at Barclays.

The company also hired Mark Connelly, James Frawley, Carl Torrillo and Peter Finn. All six will be based in New York.

“These latest appointments are a testament to Nomura’s long-standing commitment to building upon its investment banking franchise in the Americas, which is focused on providing client-centric advice and financing solutions,” James DeNaut, head of Americas investment banking, said in the release.

“We are pleased to welcome these talented and experienced bankers to our team, their expertise and leadership will help to contribute to our growth.”

Nomura is an investment bank and financial services group based in Tokyo.
