India's NHPC mulls Rs. 54.94 billion of bonds via private placements

Chicago, July 17 – NHPC Ltd. notified the Bombay Stock Exchange that it may issue up to Rs. 50 billion of corporate bonds in a private placement.

The issue will be considered at a board meeting set for July 27 and also requires shareholder approval, according to a company notice.

At the meeting, the company’s board of directors also will discuss the possibility of raising of Rs. 4.94 billion of series W corporate bonds in a private placement. The proposed issue would be under the Rs. 45 billion issue approved by shareholders at a meeting held Sept. 22, 2016.

NHPC is a hydropower generation company based in Faridabad, India.
