Moody's affirms National Rural Utilities

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed the ratings of National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corp. (A2 senior unsecured; Prime-1) and maintained the stable outlook.

"The rating affirmation and maintenance of a stable outlook reflects the continued strength of National Rural Utilities' loan portfolio, its unique market position as the dominant lender to electric distribution cooperatives, the ability of National Rural Utilities to continue producing margins consistent with its targeted adjusted TIER, adequate liquidity, and the initiatives taken by National Rural Utilities within the last year to reduce leverage over time," said A.J. Sabatelle, senior vice president at Moody's.
