S&P: National Rural Utilities view stable

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed the A/A-1 counterparty credit rating on National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corp. and revised the outlook to stable from positive.

"The outlook change follows CFC's recent disclosure that it was increasing provisions for Innovative Communication Corp," S&P analyst Sunsierre Newsome said in a statement.

The issuer's continuing solid operating fundamentals mitigate concerns, the agency said. Management has traditionally worked closely with borrowers to manage problem loans, which has resulted in low net charge-offs and satisfactory interest coverage, S&P said.
