Musicland posts $141,000 December operating loss

Pittsburgh, Jan. 30 - Musicland Holding Corp. reported a $141,000 operating loss for December on zero net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The operating loss showed improvement over a $344,000 operating loss for November, when the company also posted zero net sales.

The net loss for December was $77,000, narrowing from a $296,000 November net loss.

Cash on Dec. 31 was $11.71 million, compared with $11.78 million at the end of November.

Musicland, a Minnetonka, Minn., specialty retailer of pre-recorded entertainment software products, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 12, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10064.
