Musicland reports $101,000 January EBITDA loss

Pittsburgh, Feb. 20 - Musicland Holding Corp. reported a $101,000 EBITDA loss for January on zero net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The EBITDA loss increased from a $78,000 December EBITDA loss, which was also on zero net sales.

The operating loss for January was $460,000, an improvement over a $4.75 million December operating loss.

The January net loss was $368,000, down from a $2.3 million December net loss.

Cash on Jan. 31 was $11.95 million, compared with $12.31 million on Dec. 31.

Musicland, a Minnetonka, Minn., specialty retailer of pre-recorded entertainment software products, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 12, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10064.
