Musicland reports $544,000 July EBITDA loss

Pittsburgh, Aug. 15 - Musicland Holding Corp. reported a $544,000 EBITDA loss for July on zero net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The EBITDA loss shows improvement over a $924,000 EBITDA loss for June, also on zero net sales.

The operating loss for July was $1.06 million, down from a $2.07 million June operating loss.

The July net loss was $134,000, down from a $1.18 million June net loss.

Cash on July 31 was $50.26 million, compared with $52.8 million at the end of June.

Musicland, a Minnetonka, Minn., specialty retailer of pre-recorded entertainment software products, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 12, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10064.
