Scotiabank plans capped buffered enhanced notes tied to MSCI EAFE

New York, Aug. 22 - Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 0% series A capped buffered enhanced participation notes due in 18 to 21 months linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to an SUPPL filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus two times any gain in the index, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,180 and $1,210 per $1,000 principal amount. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1.1111% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.

The notes (Cusip: 064159692) will price on Aug. 24 and settle on Aug. 31.
