Microsoft deal with aQuantive clears German antitrust hurdle

Charlotte, N.C., July 12 - The planned acquisition of aQuantive, Inc. by Microsoft Corp. and Arrow Acquisition Co. received antitrust clearance from the German Federal Cartel Office. This is the last antitrust approval required for the deal.

The closing remains subject to several other conditions, including aQuantive shareholder approval on Aug. 9, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

As previously reported, Microsoft will acquire aQuantive for $66.50 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at about $6 billion.

Digital marketing company aQuantive is the parent company of the interactive ad agency Avenue A | Razorfish. aQuantive will continue to operate from its Seattle headquarters as part of Microsoft's online services business.

Microsoft is a software, services and solutions company located in Redmond, Wash.
