Morris Publishing Group interest payment deadline extended to July 14

Pittsburgh, June 12 - Morris Publishing Group, LLC has received an extension to July 14 from June 12 to make a $9.7 million interest payment on its senior subordinated notes, according to a company news release.

The company said holders of more than 80% of the outstanding senior subordinated notes have agreed to extend the forbearance period for the payment, which was originally due on Feb. 1.

According to the release, Morris' senior bank group has also agreed to extend its waiver of a cross default related to the overdue interest payment to July 14.

Morris Publishing owns and operates newspapers, city magazines and free community publications. The company is an affiliate of Morris Communications, a privately held media company based in Augusta, Ga.
