By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 8 - Morgan Stanley Investment Management announced it has named Dennis M. Schaney as managing director and head of high yield and senior loans, a new position within the firm's global fixed-income group.

Schaney most recently worked as global head of fixed income at Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was responsible for 115 global fixed income portfolio management professionals and about $125 billion of assets under management.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Schaney was head of leveraged finance at BlackRock, Inc. where he built the high yield, leveraged loan and research teams from scratch.

"Dennis brings to Morgan Stanley Investment Management over 26 years of fixed-income experience and his strong track record of developing and managing high yield and senior loan teams will be invaluable as we look to bolster our product offerings and further capitalize on the synergies that exist between these two investment teams," Morgan Stanley Investment Management's chief operating officer of global fixed income Kevin Klingert said in a press release. "We are delighted to have someone with Dennis's depth of experience join our team."

Based in New York, Morgan Stanley is a global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities, investment management, wealth management and credit services.
