Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners adds director David Wilton

By Tali Rackner

Norfolk, Va., Oct. 14 – Morgan Stanley announced that David Wilton will join Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners (AIP) as a managing director with a focus on private equity impact investing, according to a press release.

AIP will develop a private equity impact-investing program in partnership with the Morgan Stanley Institute for Sustainable Investing, which seeks to drive private capital toward investments promoting sustainable and profitable economic growth.

Wilton joins from the International Finance Corp., where he was chief investment officer and manager of its global private equity arm. Previously, he worked in the World Bank Pension Fund, where he managed private equity and real estate investing.

“David brings with him a thoughtful and deliberate approach to investing. He has proven through his work at the IFC that long-term positive social impact and strong financial returns can, and should, go hand in hand,” Morgan Stanley’s Institute for Sustainable Investing CEO Audrey Choi said in the release.

“Morgan Stanley is committed to advancing market-based solutions to economic, social and environmental challenges, and we are looking forward to collaborating with David and AIP.”

Morgan Stanley is a New York-based investment bank.
