Morgan Stanley files $30 billion shelf

Washington, Oct. 25 - Morgan Stanley filed a $27.5 billion shelf in an S-3 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, $2.5 billion in securities was being re-registered.
The shelf includes common and preferred stock, depositary shares, warrants, stock purchase contracts and units, capital securities and debt securities. Securities may be issued in the form of convertibles.
The New York-based financial services firm said offerings authorized by the shelf would be used for general corporate purposes.
