Morgan Joseph taps Caruso to head financial restructuring department

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 19 - Morgan Joseph & Co. Inc. has appointed Victor G. Caruso as a managing director in its Investment Banking Group and head of Financial Restructuring and Special Transactions, according to a company news release.

According to the release, Caruso has more than 25 years experience in all areas of corporate finance, and he was a founding member of the financial restructuring group at Lehman Brothers and a senior member of restructuring groups at Bear Stearns and Gordian Group.

Caruso received a bachelor of science degree from Miami University of Ohio and a master's in business administration from the University of Chicago.

"Financial restructuring and its related services, particularly in the current and anticipated economic environment, is a very exciting area that we want to focus upon," vice chairman and co-head of investment banking Roger T. Briggs said in the release.

"We believe the need for restructuring services will re-emerge as a key service for us to offer companies, especially as the current credit crunch and attendant risks to corporate earnings increases defaults among leveraged credits."

Morgan Joseph is a New York-based full service investment bank.
