S&P: Mondi view to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on Mondi Group to positive from stable.

The agency also affirmed all of the group's ratings, including the BB+ long-term corporate credit rating.

The outlook revision reflects Mondi's improved operating and financial performance in 2010, combined with an assessment that near-term fundamentals in Mondi's main markets are likely to remain favorable, S&P said.

As a result, the agency said it believes prospects for Mondi to maintain its strong 2010 performance have increased. These are factors that could lead to an upgrade over the near to medium term, S&P said.

Downside risk factors include adverse currency volatility, continued input cost inflation without compensation and renewed macroeconomic pressure, the agency said.
