Molecular Diagnostics files patent suit against Diamics

New York, Oct. 26 - Molecular Diagnostics, Inc. said it filed a suit against Diamics, Inc. and Diamics LLC alleging unfair business practices, misappropriation of its trade secrets and proprietary information, and patent and copyright infringement.

The Chicago-based company is seeking injunctive relief and damages of more than $30 million.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, claims that Peter Gombrich, Molecular Diagnostics' former chairman and chief executive officer and the founder of Diamics, misappropriated Molecular Diagnostics' proprietary information, trade secrets and patented products.

Molecular Diagnostics is a biomolecular diagnostics company engaged in the design, development and commercialization of cost-effective screening systems to assist in the early detection of cancer.
