Des Moines, April 10 - Moelis & Co. announced the hiring of Thane Carlston and William Derrough as managing directors and co-heads of the firm's restructuring group based in New York.

Carlston and Derrough have worked together for more than 17 years. Both previously spent 10 years at Jefferies & Co., where they worked as co-heads of the recapitalization and restructuring group.

Carlston worked at Chanin & Co. before joining Jefferies.

Prior to his time at Jefferies, Derrough was a principal at Doyle & Boissiere. Before that, he worked at Chanin and Salomon Brothers.

"Thane and Bill bring tremendous restructuring experience and expertise, and we could not be more pleased to have them lead this effort for us. This important step further demonstrates our commitment to provide the highest quality advice and solutions to support our clients," Ken Moelis, chief executive officer of Moelis & Co., said in a news release.
