S&P assigns A- to Applied Materials notes

S&P said it assigned its A- issue-level rating to Applied Materials Inc.'s new senior unsecured notes.

The A- corporate credit rating is unchanged.

The outlook is stable.

"The rating on Applied Materials reflects our view of its leading competitive position across multiple semiconductor equipment product categories, as well as the company's growing scale and profitability through the current industry upcycle," S&P credit analyst Andrew Chang said in a news release.
