New date set for Inter-Tel stockholders to decide Mitel merger

Charlotte, N.C., July 12 - Inter-Tel, Inc. rescheduled its special meeting of stockholders for the purpose of voting on the merger with Mitel Networks Corp. to Aug. 2 from July 23.

The move gives stockholders 20 calendar days to receive written notice of the meeting. As previously announced, the record date for the special meeting is July 9.

On April 26, Inter-Tel agreed to be acquired by Mitel for $25.60 per share in cash, or a total purchase price of $723 million.

Inter-Tel's board is recommending that its shareholders vote in favor of the merger.

Tempe, Ariz.-based Inter-Tel provides voice and data business communications systems and networking.

Mitel Networks is an Ottawa provider of integrated communications solutions and services for businesses.
