Mirant disclosure statement hearing continued, no new date set

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 6 - Mirant Corp.'s hearing to consider approval of its disclosure statement has been continued, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The hearing was originally scheduled for May 11. The new hearing date will be set by the court.

Mirant filed its amended disclosure statement and plan of reorganization on March 25. The plan gives almost all its stock to holders of unsecured claims against the parent company.

Mirant, an Atlanta-based power company, filed for bankruptcy on July 14, 2003. Its Chapter 11 case number is 03-46590.
