Mirant posts operating profit of $18.17 million in February

New York, April 12 - Mirant Corp. said its operating profit for February was $18.17 million, down from $81.72 million in January, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Net revenue for February was $244.91 million, down from $383.58 million in January.

The company's net loss for the month was $4.57 million compared to a net profit of $63.8 million the month before.

Cash at the end of the month was $1.72 billion, up from $1.59 billion on Jan. 31.

Mirant, an Atlanta-based power company, filed for bankruptcy on July 14, 2003. Its Chapter 11 case number is 03-46590.
