S&P lowers M/I Homes

Standard & Poor's said it lowered the corporate credit and senior unsecured ratings on M/I Homes Inc. to B from B+ and on its 9¾% preferred stock to C from CCC+.

The outlook remains negative (see list).

S&P said the downgrade follows a weaker-than-expected second quarter and reflects anticipated further operating pressure amid very challenging conditions in the company's Mid-Atlantic and Florida markets.

The issuer's total debt-to-EBITDA ratio is about 15 times.
