Midway Games granted court approval of seventh exclusivity extension

Pittsburgh, March 24 - Midway Games Inc. was granted a seventh extension to its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a plan of reorganization, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive filing period was extended to May 14 from Feb. 15 and the solicitation period to July 13 from April 29.

According to the motion, Midway Games needs the extra time to solicit votes on its plan of liquidation and to reconcile claims.

Midway Games, based in Chicago, is a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for videogame systems and personal computers. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 12, 2009, and its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10465.
