Midway Games looks to extend exclusive filing period to Oct. 30

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Sept. 28 - Midway Games, Inc. has asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to extend its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a plan of reorganization, according to a Friday court filing.

Specifically, the company wants to extend its exclusive filing period to Oct. 30 from Sept. 29 and the solicitation period to Dec. 30 from Nov. 30.

Midway said it still needs to resolve the appropriate allocation of sale proceeds and the amount of funds expected to be available for distribution to general unsecured creditors.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 20.

Midway Games, based in Chicago, is a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for videogame systems and personal computers. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 12, 2009, and its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10465.
