S&P: No change to Micron

Standard & Poor's said Micron Technology Inc.'s negotiation to acquire Elpida Memory Inc.'s business from court-appointed trustees does not have an immediate impact on the ratings on the company, due to the numerous uncertainties related to the potential transaction.

The agency said these uncertainties include timing, ultimate success, costs, structure and funding sources, as well as visibility into Elpida's performance and investment requirements.

These concerns are partially offset by Micron's flexibility within its current rating, including debt capacity, approximately $3 billion of pro forma cash and prospects for an earnings recovery over the coming year, S&P said.
