MFA files automatic shelf

Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 19 - MFA Mortgage Investments Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Securities covered under the filing include common stock, preferred stock, depositary shares and warrants. Preferred stock may be offered as convertibles.

Proceeds will be added to the company's general corporate funds.

MFA is a New York investment company.
